Detroit Guitar Conservatory

Teacher
I have an undergraduate degree in classical guitar performance and a graduate degree in music theory from Wayne State University. In addition to receiving scholarship awards such as the Joe Fava Guitar Scholarship and the Music Study Club of Metropolitan Detroit Endowed Scholarship, my thesis, “The Brotherhood Symphony: A Musical Analysis of Martin Luther King, Jr’s. “I Have a Dream” sermon,” was nominated for the 2011 Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools thesis award. I am also a registered Suzuki guitar teacher and an annual Suzuki Summer Institute teacher.

As a teacher, I combine my passion for understanding and interacting with music with my joy for educating children. My current students (including my children) enjoy many performance opportunities and occasions for sharing their work with peers, friends, and family.
