Teacher
Scott Walter is a professor of classical guitar at Wayne State University. He has degrees in both performance and music theory. His thesis, “The Brotherhood Symphony: A Musical Analysis of Martin Luther King, Jr’s. “I Have a Dream” sermon,” was nominated for the 2011 Midwestern Association of Graduate Schools thesis award. He is a registered Suzuki guitar teacher and an annual Suzuki Summer Institute teacher.
As a teacher, I combine my passion for understanding and interacting with music with my joy for educating children. My current students (including my children) enjoy many performance opportunities and occasions for sharing their work with peers, friends, and family.
